Canaan Valley Ski area is operated by the West Virginia State Park sysytem. It’s a nice family ski area located in the Canaan Valley of West Virginia. It has wider runs than its neighbor – Timberline ski area, but has a little less vertical drop. They have a quad and triple chair, so wait lines aren’t ever too bad. There is also a nice beginner area off to the side. Getting from the parking area to the snow isn’t too bad – but – getting up the hill to the lifts will require a strong assistant. As you can see in the picture below, you have to hike up quite a bit. Everyone was really friendly there.
